Hastelloy C276 Tube is a wrought nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy which displays a remarkable corrosion resistance in a very wide range of processing environments. It displays excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1040°C. Nominal composition of alloy C276 precision Tube includes Ni 57.0%, Cr 15.5%, Fe 5.5%, Mo 16.0%, W 3.8%.
The high molybdenum content of Alloy C276 Welded Tube provides the alloy with its excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Since the alloy's low carbon content means ASTM B574 tube is resistant to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone, Hastelloy C276 can maintain its unique corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition.
UNS N10276 tubing is popular for its use in Chemical processing such as arduous areas of flue gas de-sulphurisation plants, critical components in sewage treatment, chemical and petrochemical plants; waste incineration, sour gas production and organic acid processing. is selected for resistance to wet chlorine gas, hypo-chlorites and many other aggressive chemicals. It also offers exceptional resistance to strong solutions of oxidizing salts such as ferric and cupric chlorides.
