Inconel Pipe is made up of a material that is specifically optimized for some of the toughest use conditions to be found in manufacturing. Even compared to stainless steel, Inconel has an incredibly high tolerance for extreme heat, and doesn’t lose as much tensile strength at 2,000°F as most varieties of steel.
However, ASME SB163 Seamless pipes are an expensive material, one which is best reserved for the right use conditions where other materials won’t work as well. Generally, the corrosion resistance of ASTM B444 Inconel Welded Pipes are very good in reducing environments, but poor in oxidizing conditions. Inconel ERW Pipes does not work good in oxidizing acids, such as nitric acid and nitrous.
Technically, Inconel alloy ERW Pipes are resistant to most alkalis, salts, waters, food products, organic substances and atmospheric conditions at both normal temperature and elevated temperatures. Inconel EFW Pipes has good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 870 Degree C and in continuous service to 925 Degree C.
